An individual who contaminated treats with sedative and gave them to youngsters at a summer camp in Leicestershire has admitted sexual offenses against two young males who were nine and 10.
Jon Ruben was detained after eight youngsters and one adult experienced illness at the location in the summer month.
The senior citizen, from that region, confessed to a series of 17 offences when he stood at the judicial center on Friday.
However, he refused to admit one of the sexual offences he was accused of, which was involving a young boy.
The defendant was kept in jail prior to a additional proceeding on 28 November.
'Candy game'
The legal representative, presenting evidence, detailed Ruben's offending to the judicial body.
She stated his victims were under-privileged children who were attending a summer program which he managed.
The man engaged in a "candy game" with the children, Mrs Prior stated, in which he would go into the boys' rooms when they were preparing to sleep and tell them to eat sweets "as quickly as they can".
She informed the proceedings Ruben had conducted this practice with the young males "repeatedly", and children had previously become sick the next day.
She explained Ruben had been capable of justifying this for many years as the youngsters being "overexcited from fun", until his stepchild had worries in summer 2025.
The legal representative stated further: "In the summer" his family member had concerns about the situation, justifiably.
"They resolved" to have a look in the defendant's belongings."
Mrs Prior KC explained items including baby oil, petroleum jelly and medical needles were found, and his stepchild contacted the law enforcement about his concerns.
She said the defendant proceeded to engage in the "sweet game" with six children that time - Saturday 26 July - and they were everyone unwell the subsequent day.
"Authorities" had not arrived by that point," she stated further.
The oversight body, the police conduct office, had stated that it was reviewing law enforcement's management of the incident.
The prosecutor said the minors were having difficulty walking due to their condition, so Ruben's stepson notified the law enforcement again.
She explained the man then conducted the "sweet game" in a room of five minors.
